Yesterday was the birthday of my daughter's Mother in Law, Teresa, and this is the card I made for her. As she is a nurse I thought this image was perfect. I'm not sure Teresa ever turned up for work in a uniform like this though.
I kept the background simple, or clinical, by matting and layering dark blue and red card onto an 8"x 8" blank. The light blue layer was created with Pan Pastels.
I was lucky enough to win an image in a Kenny K challenge a couple of months ago and I chose the Naughty Nurse specifically for this card. I coloured her with a mix of Copics and Promarkers.
To keep the embellishments simple I used red thread on white buttons to create the universal 'red cross' symbol matching the nurse's hat.
I created the sentiments on the computer and saved the punchline for the inside. Not that I'm suggesting that any self-medication has taken place or that Teresa is a 'naughty' nurse.
By the way, I did have a brilliant time at Ally Pally and managed to get some lovely new goodies. Thank you for the good wishes.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
