Docrafts Demos January to March 2017

Hello fellow bloggers. I apologise for my absence. It has been caused largely by a nasty bout of bronchitis and a broken laptop. In between antibiotics and computer shopping I have been managing to keep up with my Docrafts demonstrations. I have some samples from the past few months to show you.

There were lots of fabulous new dies released in time for January's demos including dies to cut houses and new Cut and Emboss folders.

Personalising projects is so easy with the new mini alphabet dies and two sizes of wooden letters. The new family tree die has proved popular too.

March's new products include adorable animal images and brilliant papers in the Paws for Thought range.

There are some gorgeous new dies to make card designs easy.

The wonderful new Capsule Elements collection features wood designed papers which are suitable for male and female cards.
My demonstrations all went well and the new collections proved very popular.
I'm pleased to report that the bronchitis, which was the culmination of  poor health since mid-December is now under control. The laptop, however remains another issue. I am now the owner of a new laptop that's full of sharp edges and lots of useless software. I'm ignoring the awful Windows 10 and only using the laptop when necessary. It's only redeeming feature so far is the touchscreen feature that I insisted on.
I shall persevere however and hope to be back to normal soon.

Creative Artiste #24 March 2017

Welcome everyone to my March challenge post for
Creative Artiste.
We are a challenge blog for everyone who likes to mix their media. So, as long as you like to use various mediums on your creations we'd love to see you enter the challenge.
A big Thank You to everyone who entered Challenge #23 in February. Your projects were fabulous and our winner has been announced on the blog.

Our theme is always
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"

This month we are sponsored by our own DT member Judy who has arranged a prize of dies and stamps.

I have incorporated some stamps and a die in my project.

I started with a compass stencil and texture paste on an 8"x 8" (20 x 20 cm) base. I used watered down acrylic paints and some sprays to colour the background. Once dry I randomly stamped some travel themed stamps and then gave it all a white gesso wash.

I stamped and heat embossed the hot air balloon from Sheena Douglass onto watercolour card. I dripped on some spray colours and cut it out.

I created the rust effect border with acrylic paints and sand texture paste. The Harlequin die-cut is from Tim Holtz and was coloured with paints and inks. I layered on a piece of cheesecloth and dry brushed it with paint before fixing the hot air balloon in place with foam pads.

The embellishments are mostly from Craft Box. I painted some with acrylics and added beads to the wire bauble.

For the finishing touch I heat embossed the chipboard word with copper and gold powder.

This is a month long challenge so you have time to create projects and enter up to three times. A full list of the rules is on the challenge blog. Crafts Galore Encore March 2017

Happy St David's Day from Wales. Wow! The first of March already, the year seems to be rolling on more quickly now. Probably because February was so short.
I had a wonderful weekend of classes with the fabulous Finnabair. She is an amazing teacher. I shall show you my projects starting next week.

But today's business is a new challenge on the
Thank you to everyone who joined in with February's challenge. The winners are on the challenge blog's 'winner's page'. This is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. A full list of rules are on the challenge blog.

Our theme this month is the popular
"Anything Goes"
and our sponsor is

Fabrika Fantasy

I was lucky enough to be able to choose a fabulous image from our sponsor. I love unicorns and have decorated an art board from Bee Crafty.

I glued the two bits together and gave it all a coat of white gesso. I then used a star stencil and texture paste to create a bit of dimension.

I printed the beautiful Flying Pegasus image after adding a bit of shading in a graphics program. I then cut round the unicorn leaving a thin white border.

Before fixing the Pegasus in place I used a few of my Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays to colour the art board background in dreamy pastel shades.

I printed the words on the computer, cut them out and inked around the edges before fixing them and the Pegasus to the art board.

Now please visit the  Crafts Galore Encore challenge blog to see the wonderful projects and cards created by the rest of the talented team and to enter your "Anything Goes" creations.
