Graphic 45 Triptych

I was trying to find a photo among the jumble of pictures on my computer when I came across a folder of Graphic 45 cards and projects that I have made and not blogged. I'd like to share one of those with you today. I've loved G45 papers for a couple of years now and earlier this year I couldn't wait to get my hands on the beautiful Botanical Tea papers. This is one of the first things I made with the 12"x 12" papers.
I created this triptych frame for a dear friend, but as she hasn't been well for some time, I was only recently able to give it to her.

The frame is plain cardboard that I painted with silver Artiste acrylic paint. I cut six identical pieces and removed an aperture in three of them. I glued the aperture pieces to the backs, adding a couple of short lengths of lace in between to attach them in a row. I left the tops unstuck so I could slide the main picture into the center of each one.

After deciding on the main piece of artwork for each frame, I fussy cut matching images for the outside of the frames.

I covered those images with a couple of layers of Modge Podge to give them strength. I mounted some of the artwork on foam pads for depth.

I decoupaged some of the flowers and butterflies. I added a stand to the center panel and finished the project with silver corners on the top outside edges.
I hope you like my triptych frame as much as the recipient does. I have lots more Graphic 45 creations to show you and I'll be blogging them soon.

Kraftyhands October 2014 Challenge

Today is the start of the October challenge at Kraftyhands. Thank you to those of you who joined in with the September challenge, the winners have been announced on the blog. This challenge is just for fun.
The theme this month is "Tagtastic"
and I have made a double tag to inspire you.

The base tags are hand cut from Kraft card. I scruffed and inked the edges. All the elements are from the Steampunk Emporium CD from Kraftyhands. I layered one of the many backing papers on both tags and then glued them together. I picked some of my favourite elements from the CD and printed and cut them out then played around with the layout until I was happy.

I decoupaged some of the images and to add a shabby chic feel I scruffed edges, used inks and overlayered parts of the artwork.

I die-cut cogs and dotted them around the tags then sprinkled on some Frantage. To finish off I punched two holes in the tops and added ribbon, string and beads.

Please visit the  Kraftyhands Challenge Blog for a full set of the challenge rules and to view the inspirational DT creations. Remember to be a follower of the challenge blog to qualify for entry in the challenge. Visit the Kraftyhands webshop to get your copy of this fantastic CD and lots more.

Butterfly Botanicals Book

Have you been watching the new online crafting channel The British Craft Network? It's the first British internet TV channel run by crafters for the benefit of crafters. There is no hard sell, just demos by some of your favorite crafting companies.
The other day I showed some samples I'd made for the first Kraftyhands show on the British Craft Network featuring the gorgeous Butterfly Botanicals CD. Today I have a little book I made using various elements from the CD.
I printed a backing paper from the CD twice and glued them back to back. I then scored them to create a spine. I added black glitter to the butterfly on the front.

I used one of the postcard embellishments for the first page.

I printed one of the text papers a few times and glued them back to back to create the pages.

I decorated the pages with butterfly toppers and die-cuts.

I used Distress Inks around the edges of the pages and toppers and added some little punched flowers.

I decorated the last page with another postcard and glued the pages inside the book cover.

I enjoyed making this little book and I think it's a lovely way to show off some of the beautiful butterflies on the Butterfly Botanicals CD. Have you ordered your copy yet?
I hope you've managed to log on and watch the shows on the British Craft Network channel. It's a fantastic way to watch your favourite craft companies demonstrating their goodies.

British Craft Network Launch

Today, at 9am, sees the launch of the British Craft Network. It's an internet based channel where you will be able to view some of your favourite crafting companies demonstrating their crafty goodies. There will be no hard sell, you simply watch the demos on the pre-recorded shows and then visit the relevant online shops to place your orders. There is a British Craft Network Facebook page for you to keep up to date with all the news.

The boys from Kraftyhands have recorded their first show for BCN to showcase their latest fabulous release. It's the Butterfly Botanicals CD and is full of the most beautiful artwork and, of course, butterflies. I have made some samples to tempt you.
There are 6"x 6" Card Making Sets which contain everything you need over two pages to create stunning cards. There are even matching inserts. I've simply added lace handmade flowers and red glitter to this card.

There are wonderful vintage style papers in a range of colours to match the butterflies. here I've printed a paper four times and cut varying sized apertures. I then mounted them on foam pads.

There are many gorgeous embellishments on the CD including tags, postcards and alphabets. I printed a selection of papers, embellishments and butterflies for this card. Two of the butterflies are attached with acetate strips to give them movement.
Visit the Kraftyhands Webshop to get your hands on your own copy of this beautiful CD and make sure you log on and watch the shows and demos online at the British Craft Network. It's the first British internet TV channel run by crafters for the benefit of crafters.

I'll be back in a few days with a project book I made with the Butterfly Botanicals CD
