Crafts Galore Encore April 2022

Happy April Fool's Day! I hope you haven't been caught out by any tricks today. It's always fun trying to spot the pranks in the news. 

Last month was busy with workshops (more on that next month) and an exciting trip away where our big princess said "Yes!" to her wedding dress. The countdown is now on to the big day next year.

As soon as I saw this cute image I knew I wanted to make this fun Easter card.

I started with an 8"x 8" (20 x 20cm) card base. I made a background for the image by dabbing light blue and pale green acrylic paints onto watercolour card. I mounted this layer onto pale yellow card and added a yellow ribbon before attaching it all to the card base.

This super cute image is Easter 15 and I coloured it with my Copics before cutting it out in an oval to look like an egg shape.

I couldn't resist printing this fun sentiment on the computer. I cut it into banners and shaped them using foam tape to give them a curved appearance.

I finished the card by adding a bow to the ribbon and some yellow gems.

Crafts Galore Encore May 2021

Welcome to May and, hopefully, some lovely weather. Spring has been a mixed bag so far weatherwise with some nice days and some grey days. Today is very pleasant here and we'll be enjoying the sunshine.

I made a 5"x 7" (13 x 18cm) birthday card.

I wanted to go for a classy Art Deco vibe. I started with a base layer of gold mirri card and layered it with black and then red card.

I used the gorgeous Cameo 14 image and coloured it with Copics and a gold Posca pen. I cut the image out and mounted it onto gold mirri.

I added the stamped sentiment onto black card and

finished the card with some punched butterflies and gold gems.

The lucky winner will win the three digi images the design team have used.

I have made a 7"x 7" (18 x 18 cm) card. I think it has a Springtime feel so gave it an Easter sentiment.

I created the base with water and Distress Oxides Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade. I matted it onto yellow textured card.

I chose to use the cute Teddy World 5 and coloured the image with Copics. I then used a hexagonal die to cut it out.

I dipped a length of white seam binding in the wet DOX and used it to make the ribbon and bow. I also tied a plain white bow. I fixed them all to an off cut of the yellow textured card.

Crafts Galore Encore February 2019

I hope you've had a nice start to the year. I spent a large part of January travelling and away from home again, but, at least we got another problem resolved ....

I have made an A5 portrait card to show you.

The background was created with Distress Oxides Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover on watercolour card. I stamped butterflies all over it and cut a panel. I matted it onto a pearlescent gold card before fixing onto a homemade card blank.

I chose the Cameo #14 image. I just love the smoldering look on her face. I coloured her with my Copics and die cut her into an oval. I used a scalloped oval die with the pearlescent gold card to create the mat.

I used a couple of dies and stamps to make the butterflies from left over background card. I attached them by the body so the wings lift up for dimension. I have left space to add the sentiment when I want to use the card.
