Crafts Galore Encore December 2016

The first of the month means it's the start of a new challenge on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog
Thank you to everyone who joined in with November's challenge. The winners are on the challenge blog's 'winner's page'. This is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. A full list of rules are on the challenge blog.

Our theme this month is the popular
"Anything Goes"
and our sponsor is
Sherri Baldy
The prize will be the three fabulous images that the DT have used.

As it's nearly Christmas I thought I'd better make a Christmas card.

This card will fit in an 8"x 8" (20 x 20 cm) envelope. The base panel is covered with a plain paper from my stash. The spotty papers are from The Paper Studio. All panels have been matted onto green card.

This gorgeous image is IMG 924 and I coloured her with my Copics. I cut her out using an X-cut scalloped oval die and edged it with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I fussy cut the poinsettias from some old First Noel paper from Papermania and layered a couple of them up. The vintage style lace is from my stash. I added some fibres for a bit of texture. The words were also cut from the First Noel paper.
Now please visit the  Crafts Galore Encore challenge blog to see the wonderful projects and cards created by the rest of the talented team and to enter your "Anything Goes" creations.
As this is our last challenge for 2016 I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Crafts Galore Encore August 2016

Summer is rushing by and it's now August. We have had some lovely weather here in the UK in between the rain. I'm hoping for more sunshine this month.
As it's the first of the month there is a new challenge on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog
Thank you to everyone who joined in with the July challenge. The winners are on the challenge blog 'winner's page'. This is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. A full list of rules are on the challenge blog.
Our theme this month is
"Use a Digi or Stamp"
We are being sponsored this month by the fabulous Sherri Baldy who is offering the three digis that the team have used for the winner. Sherri's images can be purchased from Sherri's Etsy Store or the My Besties Shop

I have made an 8"x 8" (20 cm x 20 cm) card that will make a perfect birthday card for a little girl I know.

I have used a white linen card for the matting layers. The three papers were all freebies from a magazine. I used roses from Wild Orchid and made a bow with seam binding.

I chose this adorable image to work with. She is called Besties of Faith Girl Img 875. I have coloured her with Copics in colours to match the pretty papers.
Now please visit the  Crafts Galore Encore challenge blog to meet the wonderful new DT members and see the fabulous projects the whole team have created with Sherri's images for your inspiration.

Easter Bunny

I hope you are all well and have a crafty weekend planned. I decided to take a few days out this week to spend time with my gorgeous baby grandson but now it's time to get back to work.
Here is a card I made recently for a friend and to enter in the Champion of Champions Challenge.

I found some yellow embossed card in a forgotten box in my craft room and I printed a couple of blue patterned papers. All the the layers were matted onto white card and assembled on the card base to fit in an 8"x 8" (20cm x 20cm) envelope.

I printed this adorable Easter Mouse image by Sherri Baldy and coloured it with Copics. I cut out a rectangle and edged it in blue ink before matting onto white card.

I embellished the card with flowers from my stash, some Marianne die-cut leaves, a Sizzix die-cut flower and butterfly. I finished the card with a big bow and some blue gems.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Bethany's Birthday

I was very honoured to have been chosen by the  Scrapbook Stamp Society challenge DT as a winner for my entry in their December challenge. As well as being able to choose two new digis I was also offered a GDT spot on the Scrapbook Stamp Society blog to show a couple of my cards.
For my GDT card I used a gorgeous Sherri Baldy digi to make this double fronted birthday card for a wonderful young lady who turned 18 at the beginning of the month.

I took an 8"x 8" card blank and made a flap to go round the front from ivory card. I cut out the '18' with a craft knife and created a frame with a Whimsy Stamps corner die. I then added pink flowers and gems and a lilac bow.

Inside is the card blank front. I covered that with more ivory card and a paper from First Edition Mulberry Kisses. I added a strip of  pink lace and lilac ribbon. The sentiment was computer generated.

I couldn't resist this gorgeous image when I saw it in Sherri's Etsy shop.  She is IMG 303. I coloured her in pinks and lilacs with my Copics and cut round her. I placed her onto pink card that I had die cut with an X-cut scalloped oval die and added some pink gems. I placed her so she is peeping out from behind the 18 on the card front.
I'm pleased to say that the card was well received.
I'd like to thank the Scrapbook Stamp Society challenge DT for this opportunity to showcase my work.
I'm being kept very busy at the moment with preparations for my upcoming Docrafts demos so may not be around much over the next few days. I will be back to show you the fabulous new Docrafts collections towards the end of the week. Until then, have fun crafting.

Crafts Galore Encore February 2016

This year seems to be flying by already but the weather doesn't appear to be getting any better. I hope you are all coping well with whatever Mother Nature is throwing at you.
The first of February means it's time for a new challenge on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog. Thank you to everyone who joined in with January's challenge. The winners are on the challenge blog 'winner's page'. This is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. A full list of rules are on the challenge blog.
Our theme this month is
"Use a Digi or Stamp"
We are being sponsored by the fabulous Sherri Baldy who is offering the three digis that the team have used for the winner. This is a prize worth $12. Sherri's images can be purchased from Sherri's Etsy Store or the My Besties Shop

As it's Valentine's Day this month I chose this cute image for a romantic card with a difference.

I used an X-cut scalloped circle die to create the base with salmon pink textured card. The paper is from an LOTV pad and I added a length of lace around the top. I created the Valentine sentiment on the computer.

This delightful digi of a girl cuddling a Frog Prince is IMG803 and I coloured it with my Copics. I then cut the image out with a scalloped circle before fixing to the card with foam pads.

The flowers were made with the two smallest Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers dies and I added green pearls to the centres. The leaf dies are from Marianne and the butterfly is by Sizzix.
I made a triple bow from seam binding and finished it with a large button.
Now visit the  Crafts Galore Encore challenge blog to see the fabulous projects the team have created with Sherri's images for your inspiration.

A Layered Christmas

I can't believe how quickly this month is rolling by. Everything seems to be geared up for just the one day but we also have five family birthdays this month so there is extra crafting and shopping to do. I hope you are all up to date with your preparations. I'm still chasing my tail trying to get everything ready in time, but, just to prove that I have been crafting I have a card to show today.
This is a card I made for a crafty American friend. She has received it now so I can show it.

I cut panels of plain card in decreasing sizes and layered them up. I tattered the edges with scissors and spread them out to make a card that fits in an 8"x 8" envelope. The papers are from Heartfelt Creations and Papermania

I added hessian ribbon, lace and green wired ribbon across the front of the card. This adorable little girl is IMG392  from Sherri Baldy. I coloured her with my Copics and cut round her before mounting on foam pads.

I used Marianne dies for the poinsettias and ferns and a Memory Box die for the bells. I tied more of the wired ribbon in a bow and finished the card with some gold gems. I'm pleased to say that the card was well received.
I'd better get back to my preparations now but I'll be back to show more of my recent crafting soon.
I've entered this card in the following challenges:

Creative Artiste Challenge 6

Yay, it's Friday. I hope you all have something nice planned for the weekend. I shall be travelling again but hope to get back home in time to catch up on some crafting.
As it's the first Friday of September it's the start of a new challenge at Creative Artiste We are a challenge blog for everyone who likes to mix their media. As long as you use more than one media on your project we'd love to see you enter the challenge. This is a month long challenge so you have time to create cards or projects and enter up to three times. A full list of the rules is on the challenge blog.
Our theme this month is the popular
"Anything Goes"

We are being sponsored by the fabulous Sherri Baldy who is offering a generous choice of three digis for the winner. Sherri's images can be purchased from Sherri's Etsy Store  My Besties Shop or The Scrapbook Stamp Society.

This time I've made a clock. I wanted it to look like a cog to go with a Steampunk theme. It measures 10.5" (27 cm) in diameter.

I hand drew a template for the clock and traced around it onto a sheet of  grey board before cutting it out. I then repeated the process and glued the two pieces together so I had a sturdy base. After gluing them together I painted them first with white gesso and then roughly with a brown acrylic paint to give a slight texture. Once dried, I dry brushed them with gold acrylic paint.
I used a dinner plate to cut a circle of paper from First Edition Rose Garden and used Modge Podge to stick it down, then punched a hole in the centre for the clock mechanism.

The image I've used is IMG602 by Sherri Baldy. I coloured her with Copics and loosely cut her out. I created the postcard with a Docrafts stamp and Distress Inks.

The cogs and sprockets have been die-cut with Spellbinders dies. I printed the Roman numerals on the computer, punched them out with an X-cut punch and distressed them with ink. I actually stuck two of them on upside down and had to redo them - silly me!
I finished the clock by fixing the hands in place and setting the time.
Now please visit the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog to see the wonderful projects created by my talented team mates for more inspiration.  Remember to have fun.

Crafts Galore Encore August 2015 Challenge

Finally a few rays of sunshine! It feels more like April though with the showers in between the sunbursts and the cool temperatures. Maybe we will have our Summer in October?
Summer weather or not it's the first of August and time for a new challenge on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog. This is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. A full list of rules are on the challenge blog.
Our theme this month is everyone's favourite
"Anything Goes"

We are being sponsored by the fabulous Sherri Baldy who is offering a generous choice of three digis from the selection the DT have used for their inspiration this month. All the images can also be purchased from Sherri's Etsy Store  My Besties Shop or The Scrapbook Stamp Society.
This is the image I chose to work with and the card I made with it.

I started with an 8"x 8" card base and added an LOTV paper from the Perfect Pair collection. The panel is from the same paper pad.

I chose IMG931 to work with as she reminds me of my granddaughter - she's always got scrapes on her knees. I coloured her with Copics then cut her out with an X-cut oval. The scalloped oval mat is also from X-cut and has been coloured with a Pan Pastel.

I used a Marianne poinsettia die for the flowers, a Cheery Lynn flourish and butterfly and a Marianne die for the fence. I finished the card with some faux pearls and a ticket that was hanging round my work bench.
Now please visit the Crafts Galore Encore challenge blog to see the fabulous creations from my wonderfully talented team mates using Sherri's images. We look forward to seeing your Anything Goes projects.
This is the selection of digis the DT had to work with. The lucky winner can choose three of these images for themselves.

Kit and Clowder Swap Card May 2015

We are now mid-way through half term week and, as predicted, there is not a lot of craft time for me as my two grandchildren are keeping me busy. I hope you are all enjoying your week.
Last month Alyce from the Kit and Clowder Facebook group organised an international card swap. The theme was "Friendship" and this is the card that I made for my partner, Sarit, who lives in Tel Aviv.

I used an 8"x 8" card blank and covered it with turquoise card. The text paper and pink striped paper are from Papermania. I made a doily with an X-cut embossing folder and scalloped circle die and coloured it with Pan Pastels.

I used this gorgeous image by Sherri Baldy that I chose as part of my prize from Holley's February giveaway. Thank you Holley! The digi is called IMG 521 Best Besties Forever and I thought it was perfect for the "Friendship" theme. I coloured it with Copics and a few Promarkers.

The flowers were made using Delicate Daisies Open Petals dies, the butterflies are an X-cut die and the fence is from a Marianne die.

I printed the sentiment from the PC, the bow is turquoise seam binding. I finished the card with some flat backed gems.

This is the adorable card I received from Sarit in return. Thank you to Alyce for organising the card swap. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've entered my card in the following challenges:

Happy Easter Sunday

Happy Easter
to all my friends and followers. I hope you are all enjoying the long weekend.
I've made a card for you all to share.

I've used polka dot and striped papers from a couple of Kraftyhands CDs and matted them all onto plain white card. I then distressed the edges.

The delightful image is Easter Mouse from Sherri Baldy and is one of the prizes I chose from Holley's Candy giveaway. Thank you Holley. I coloured it with Copics.

I used various dies including the heart ones from X-cut and a Memory Box butterfly. The multi tone wired ribbon is from Ribbon Box and the flowers from Wild Orchid.

Crafts Galore Encore April 2015 Challenge

It's the 1st of April today which means it's April Fools' Day. I love trying to spot (and avoid) the pranks. I hope you manage to survive the day without falling for any jokes.
Welcome to the April challenge for the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog. It is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. A full list of rules are on the challenge blog.
This challenge is being sponsored by the popular Sherri Baldy and her prize for the winner is a choice of 3 of the digis that the DT have used for their inspiration samples.

The theme for this month is an easy
"Make a Card"

As it's now April, I thought I'd make a Springtime card. Not that any Springtime weather is forecast.
I used textured Papermania card in sage green, bright orange and sunshine yellow. The paper is from the Little Meow range from Docrafts. I used a couple of Marianne dies to create the frame for the image and an X-cut die for the butterflies. The ivy was cut with a Signature die from Joanna Sheen.

I chose the delightful Fay Sisters image and coloured it with a mix of Copics and Promarkers. The other images the Design Team were offered are equally lovely but I thought this image was perfect to celebrate Spring.

I added a bunch of daffodils and tulips tied with a bow and finished the card by adding orange gems to the butterflies.
Now please visit the Crafts Galore Encore challenge blog to see the other wonderful cards from my fabulously talented team mates and to see the other lovely images for the prize.
I've added my photos to the My-Besties Designs Facebook group and
I've entered this card into the following challenges:

Mummy's Birthday Card

I was lucky enough to be one of the winners of the lovely Holley's blog candy event last month to celebrate her five years of being seizure free. I won some Sherri Baldy digis and one of the images I chose was perfect for a card for my young granddaughter, Harlow, to give to her Mummy on her birthday.
This is card I made.

I started by matting and layering card in black, red and finally white. I then chose a polka dot paper from Papermania's Capsule collection Spots and Stripes. I wrapped black lace around all the layers and fixed them to an 8"x 8" scalloped card blank.

I coloured the image with a mix of Copics and Promarkers and matted and layered it onto red and then black card. I created the sentiment on the computer and hand cut the heart layers. I finished the card with a polka dot bow and some punched hearts.

For a little insight into my daughter's birthday celebrations, this is the delightful Harlow showing Mummy her 'handwritten' birthday message,

and enjoying a birthday cupcake as her reward.
