Docrafts January Projects

I hope you all have a lovely weekend planned. I will be be wedding dress shopping with one of my daughters as she is getting married later this year.  As usual, this week has flown by. I have been kept very busy with some exciting new projects. I will be able to  share some of them with you next week. In the meantime I thought I'd show you some more of the Docrafts samples I have made for the latest collections. I have picked out three projects.

I transformed an old chocolate box with some of the gorgeous self-adhesive fabric. I then used elements from the Sew Lovely collection to embellish it.

I added lace and ribbon from the Parisienne Blue Capsule collection. Now I just have to decide what to put in the box. Maybe more chocolates?

Any of you who managed to get the new Goody Bag will have the handy diary. I again used the self-adhesive fabric to cover my diary and then decorated it with a canvas heart, a strip of  Madame Peyraud lace and items from the Sew Lovely range. A totally different look with just a few bits.

There is a fabulous sheet of tissue paper in the Madame Peyraud collection. It's a black on white collage of wonderful vintage adverts and text. I cut a strip and melted it around a plain candle. This idea is brilliant for unique presents.

I do hope you've treated yourselves to some of the new collections. There are so many lovely elements in each and they are easily mixed and matched as you can see from my samples.
I'll be back next week with some cards I've been working on. Enjoy your weekend x

I have kept to a vintage pink palette for this card. The backing paper is one of my favourites from Bearly Mine and I adjusted the colour slightly in MCS to match the card.

The gorgeous photograph is from Vintage Photo Sheet 17 and is available in the Scribble & Scrap shop. I think the photo looks very much like my mother as a child. I used a Spellbinder die to create the mat for the image. I made the bow from white seam binding and coloured it with a Promarker.

I was lucky enough to receive the Delicate Aster die for my birthday from my husband and couldn't resist using it to make these gorgeous flowers. The centers are waste from another die-cut.

January 2014 Docrafts Demo

I've been a bit quiet lately as I've been busy playing with some exciting new crafty items. This Saturday I have my first Docrafts demonstration of 2014. I can tell already that this year is going to be a fabulous one for all of us crafters.
Docrafts have released another two fantastic collections and a wonderful Capsule collection. Whatever kind of cards and projects you enjoy making you will be spoilt for choice. Don't forget to look out for all the new gorgeous papers, card kits, ribbons, lace, stamps, dies, embellishments and more in your local Docrafts stockist or visit the Docrafts online store.

The Sew Lovely collection is perfect for anyone who is interested in any kind of needlework. I've used papers, dies and threads for this first card.

The card kits are full of  pretty, die-cut embellishments.

The fabulous Madame Peyraud collection has plenty for male cards and the craft tape has so many uses.

There is a wealth of vintage curiosities and the papers are perfect for cutting up to suit your project.

The Capsule Collection is Parisienne Blue. It has the most beautiful papers and die-cut doilys.

There are also ribbons, lace, buttons and rosettes for quick, pretty cards.

If any of you are in the Carmarthen area this Saturday please pop in to The Range to say Hello. I shall be there from 10am until 4pm.  I'll be back next week to show you some projects made from these wonderful new collections.

We hope you will all be playing along with this new challenge. Don't forget to sign up as a follower to be eligible to win.

Lexie, the Boss-lady at Scribble & Scrap, has been working on some new characters with a friend of hers. They are called 'The Puglies'. I have chosen the character called Charles to make a birthday card for my husband. He is a big Chelsea fan, and for those who don't know, their team colours are blue and white.

I used three papers from Polkadoodles CD Pretty Tough and some blue pearlescent card for the mats. I typed out the sentiments on the computer and, after matting, fixed them in place with foam pads.

I printed Charles onto Super Smooth card and coloured him with a few Promarkers, using Chelsea colours of course.
As we are mid way through a house move and most of  my crafty stash has been packed away, the embellishments were kept to a bare minimum of six half-pearls.

Feeling Crafty Challenge #24

Happy New Year to all my lovely followers. I hope it's a wonderful year for you all.

Welcome to Challenge #24 at the Feeling Crafty Challenge. This challenge was formerly known as Emma's Crafty Challenge. The rules are the same, the most important one being 'to have fun'. A copy of all the rules can be found on the challenge blog. Thank you to those who took part in our popular Christmas challenge. We hope hope you'll all join in with this one.

This month's theme is:
"Butterflies"
The first place prize is sponsored by Hayley Gillie, who is offering a £20 Stampin' Up voucher. Your entry doesn't have to be a card. Any recent crafty creation that fits the theme will be accepted.

I made an 8"x 8" card base from ivory linen card and layered with black linen card. Before attaching to the base I added an ivory, wide, organza wired ribbon and a panel of Kanban card from the Mackenzie collection.

I used three butterflies from the Kanban Mackenzie collection and mounted them on the card with foam pads.

To finish off, I fashioned a bow/butterfly shape with the ribbon and used a small flower for the center.

Please visit the new Feeling Crafty Challenge blog to see the fabulous creations from the other talented DT members and don't forget to sign up to follow the new challenge blog so you can enter your crafty butterfly makes.
