Kraftyhands May 2016 Challenge

Welcome to a new challenge at Kraftyhands. We hope you will all join in.
The theme this month is based on this colour chip

"Teal, Dusky Pink, Sand and Circle"
The lucky winner will receive a £10 Kraftyhands voucher if they have used a Kraftyhands product.
A full set of the rules are on the blog.

I made a round card that will fit in an 8"x 8" (20 cm x 20 cm) envelope. Hand cut circles are not my forte but I cut the matting layers from teal card. The sentiment was computer generated.

I used a paper and a round topper from the Craft Nouveau CD. It's only £8 in the Kraftyhands sale at the moment and is a must for anyone who loves the Art Nouveau period. It's full of pretty pattered papers and beautiful images.

The flourishes are a Sizzix die and the flower was made with a Crealies die.

Kraftyhands April 2016 Challenge

Welcome to a new challenge at Kraftyhands. We hope you will all join in.
The theme this month is based on this colour chip

"Red, White, Blue and Shield"
The lucky winner will receive a £10 Kraftyhands voucher if they have used a Kraftyhands product.
A full set of the rules are on the blog.

I've made a 6"x 6" (15cm x 15cm) card.  I wanted to keep it simple as not to detract from the fabulous florals. The papers are from the Kraftyhands Seeds of Love CD and mat and layered on white card.

I used the decoupage image of these gorgeous red roses from Card Making Set #4 on the Seeds of Love CD. I printed it out onto glossy photo paper for extra shine and mounted the layers up with foam pads.

I hand cut a shield shape and gold embossed the edges and a circle in the centre. Both sentiments and the flower are from the CD.
I finished the card with three blue gems.

Kraftyhands March 2016 Challenge

Welcome to a new challenge at Kraftyhands. We hope you will all join in.
The theme this month is based on this colour chip

"Green, Lilac, Yellow and Scallop Circle"

The lucky winner will receive a £10 Kraftyhands voucher if they have used a Kraftyhands product.
A full set of the rules are on the blog.

I used X-cut scalloped circle dies to cut the card base and layers. The card stock is textured card and the lovely papers are from the Kraftyhands In Sympathy Mini CD Collection.

There are beautiful florals on the CD and I chose this circular lily topper. Despite the CD title, the  pretty artwork can be used for many occasions. There are Card Making Sets, verses and lots of wonderful papers.

The flourishes are from Cheery Lynn and the butterfly is a Sizzix die. I finished the card with three gold gems.

Kraftyhands February 2016 Challenge

I hope you are all enjoying a nice weekend. I'm spending mine with my gorgeous little grandson. He has grown so much since I last saw him at Christmas.
Welcome to the first challenge at Kraftyhands for 2016. We hope you will all join in with us. The challenges will be a bit different this year. We have three notable differences:
- The themes each month will now be based on a colour and shape chip.
- You must use at least one Kraftyhands product to be eligible to be chosen as a winner.
- The lucky winner will receive a £10 voucher to use in the Kraftyhands shop.
A full set of the new rules are on the blog.

This month the theme is
"Hearts with Reds, Pinks and Creams"

As it's Valentine's Day next week I thought I'd use this theme for my lovely husband's card.

I started by printing four different papers from Kraftyhands Romantique Collection CD onto linen card. I used one of the papers, matted onto cream card, for the base then used hand drawn heart templates to cut out the three hearts and ivory coloured mats. These were placed on the card with some Cheery Lynn flourishes. All the edges were inked with Spun Sugar DI.

I printed some tickets from the CD and added them to each heart. I then created some dots with gold embossing powder.

I used X-cut dies to make a mini envelope and hearts and added a couple of tickets. I finished the card with some gems.

Please visit the  Kraftyhands Challenge Blog for a full set of the challenge rules and to view the inspirational creations from my talented team mates. This challenge runs until the end of the month. Remember to be a follower of the challenge blog to qualify for entry.

Kraftyhands November 2015 Challenge

Happy weekend everyone. Today is the start of the November challenge at Kraftyhands. This month's theme is
"Need for Speed"
This challenge is just for fun. You don't need to use Kraftyhands products on your creation but it would be nice if you did. A full set of the rules are on the blog.
I have made this 6"x 6" card for your inspiration.

I used one of the Card Making Sets on the Equestrian Events CD Collection for the background and gorgeous image on this card. It takes me back to the days when I was fit enough to gallop along beaches on my horse. There is nothing like the sense of speed and freedom.
I used blue card for the matting layers and added a strip of lace. The image was printed twice and overlapped. The sentiment is also from the CD.

I embellished the card with Marianne starfish and shell die-cuts to match the background paper.

Kraftyhands October 2015 Challenge

Today is the start of the October challenge at Kraftyhands. This month's theme is
"Cute and Cuddly"
This challenge is just for fun. A full set of the rules are on the blog.
I have made a card for your inspiration.

This is a 6"x 6" card blank that I have covered with green pearlescent card. I then used papers and a sentiment from the Cute Kittens and Puppies Double CD Collection.

The adorable image looks like my little dog and I couldn't resist using it as she is both cute and cuddly. It's in the Bonus Christmas Toppers section on the Puppies CD. I added a Marianne die-cut branch, some half pearls and  Docrafts bow.

Kraftyhands September 2015 Challenge

Today is the start of the September challenge at Kraftyhands. We had a break with the challenge for August while things were shuffled round but we've stuck to the previously announced theme of
"Quilts & Patchwork"
This challenge is just for fun. A full set of the rules are on the blog.
I made a patchwork card for August but I thought I'd make a new one for September.

I printed one of the woodgrain papers from the Seeds of Love CD and fixed it to an 8"x 8" card blank. I inked around the edges with Brushed Corduroy DI.

All the papers and images are from the Butterfly Botanicals CD. I created a patchwork of mats for the various images and inked all the edges. I printed the butterflies twice so I could give them some dimension. I punched the words out and mounted them on buttons as a frame.

I used maps and some of the smaller elements on the CD to decorate the other panels and finished the card with metal butterflies and a cabochon rose.

I'm now going to be busy making some samples from a gorgeous new CD. It is called Totally Tiffany Craft and is the first CD in our fabulous new format. It's already available for pre-order in the Kraftyhands shop.

The Romantique Collection

I didn't realise it's a week since I've blogged. The week seems to have flown past while I've been busy trying to get ahead with DT samples, commissions and card swaps.
Regular visitors may remember the two little pillow boxes I showed you last month. They were a sneak peek at a new CD from Kraftyhands which is making it's début this weekend. It's called The Romantique Collection. I have some of my samples to show you.

The CD has the most romantic vintage photos that are just perfect for wedding, anniversary and engagement projects.

There are beautiful square papers with pretty florals to create lovely backgrounds or layers.

The CD comes with Card Making Sets where all the elements are ready for you to print and make.

There are plenty of gorgeous coordinating papers in a range of colours.

This is a must have CD for anyone who loves romance and vintage.
Visit the Kraftyhands shop to order your copy of the CD and look for the ready printed matching Romantique paper packs. You can also see many more wonderful samples from my talented team mates by clicking on the gallery tab at the top of the shop home page.

Kraftyhands August 2015 Challenge

The August challenge at Kraftyhands has been postponed until September 7th while the team takes a break and exciting changes are made. Nevertheless, I will still show you the inspiration card I made for the challenge. You now have extra time to create something with this theme:
"Quilts and Patchwork"
You don't have to use Kraftyhands products to enter our challenge but it would be nice if you did.

I've used the lovely Perfectly Pastels CD for this card. I printed the four different papers on to linen card and ran them through an embossing folder before cutting them into triangles. I then arranged them onto a piece of yellow card and glued them all down. I added a length of satin ribbon before fixing onto a card base.

I printed the decoupaged image into photo paper and mounted up the layers with foam pads. I added the sentiment from the CD and finished the card with a pink bow.

Kraftyhands July 2015 Challenge

Hello all, I hope you are enjoying some nice weather wherever you are in the world. We've had a real mixed bag of weather these past few days in our beautiful little corner of Wales, but then, that's a typical British Summer for you.
Today is the start of the July challenge at Kraftyhands. Thank you to those of you who joined in with the June challenge, the winners have been announced on the blog. This challenge is just for fun and the theme this month is:
"Wrap It Up"
We would like to see your gift wrapping ideas. Anything from boxes to bags, traditional to novel. You don't have to use Kraftyhands products but it would be nice if you did.
I'm giving you a sneak peek of an upcoming release from Kraftyhands today.

I have used the Romantique CD Collection to create these two pillow boxes. The CD is available to pre-order prior to it's launch next month. The collection contains some of the prettiest papers, wonderful vintage photographs and fabulous artwork all centred around engagements, weddings and anniversaries.

I printed off one of the patterned papers, in pink and in blue, onto card to make the boxes. I printed a second, coordinating, paper and cut a strip to go around the middle of the boxes.

I then chose an engagement sentiment and a couple of tickets for each box. I finished the boxes with a small bow and some fluffy feathers.

Kraftyhands June 2015 Challenge

Well, it's been a mixed bag of weather this week with slightly more sunshine than rain. Hopefully that means Summer is finally on it's way.
It's the start of the June challenge at Kraftyhands. Thank you to those of you who joined in with the May challenge, the winners have been announced on the blog. This challenge is just for fun and the theme this month is:
"One for Dads"
It's Father's Day this month so there must be lots of you who have made cards that you could enter in the challenge. I don't have a dad to make a card for but here is a male card I made for your inspiration.

It's a 6"x 6" card blank that I've matted and layered with royal blue card and two papers from the Glamour Pin Ups CD Collection. I used an off cut to make a band across the centre. I created the sentiment on the computer.

The CD has 10 fabulously risqué images of ladies in a Hollywood style. The images come as decoupage with papers in the Card Making Sets or as plain toppers. I chose a decoupage image and printed her on photo paper. I assembled her with foam pads.

I finished the card with three punched 'Sheriff' stars and a horseshoe.

Kraftyhands May 2015 Challenge

Firstly I'd like to apologise if I haven't been able to visit your blogs very often recently. It's all due to a combination of my laptop having major meltdowns, family visits and celebrations and working on my Docraft samples for Saturday. I'd like to say that normal service will be resumed soon but I'm not sure what 'normal' is anymore.
Now on to today's business. It's the start of the May challenge at Kraftyhands. Thank you to those of you who joined in with the April challenge, the winners have been announced on the blog. This challenge is just for fun and the theme this month is a pretty one:
"Lace and Pearls"
This is my inspiration for you this month.

I took a 6"x 6" card blank and covered it with blue card. I printed the pretty paper and image from the Craft Nouveau CD. I added a wide ivory lace and two thin strips of blue lace back to back across the card front.

I love the Art Nouveau artwork on this CD. There are so many gorgeous images and wonderful papers. I matted the circular topper onto a die-cut scalloped circle and mounted it onto the card with foam pads.

For the pearls part of the theme I made the three stick pins with pink and blue 'pearls' and attached them behind the sentiment which is from the CD.

I added some little flowers, a double bow and finished the card with three faux half pearls.
Now please visit the  Kraftyhands Challenge Blog for a full set of the challenge rules and to view the inspirational creations from my talented team mates. Remember to be a follower of the challenge blog to qualify for entry in the challenge. Don't forget to watch the Kraftyhands shows on The British Craft Network.

Kraftyhands April 2015 Challenge

Today is the start of the April challenge at Kraftyhands. Thank you to those of you who joined in with the March challenge, the winners have been announced on the blog. This challenge is just for fun and the theme this month is
"Nature's Work"
There are many miracles in nature but I do think one of the prettiest are butterflies so I chose them for my DT card this month.

I used the Butterfly Botanicals CD to make this 8"x 8" card. I matted and layered three papers with blue card and punched the edge of a strip of yellow paper. I printed out a sentiment, tags and other elements from the CD.

I love these butterflies on the main image and how they are on a newsprint background so their beauty stands out. I decoupaged the largest butterfly for dimension.

The three butterflies were cut with an X-cut die from yellow card and I added some gold gems to finish.
This CD is perfect if you love a vintage look and butterflies There are lots of fabulous papers, beautiful butterflies, tags, postcards and vintage ephemera to play with on this disc.

Kraftyhands March 2015 Challenge

Good morning everyone. I'm just off to The Range in Carmarthen where I'll be demoing some of the lovely new collections from Docrafts. I'll be in store from 10am until 4pm and would love to see you if you're in the area. I'll show you my samples tomorrow.

Today is the start of the March challenge at Kraftyhands. Thank you to those of you who joined in with the February challenge, the winners have been announced on the blog. This challenge is just for fun and the theme this month is
"One for Mums"
I have made an 8"x 8" card using the Femme Fatale CD. The delicate floral papers and pretty, vintage images on this CD are just perfect for feminine cards.

I started by matting a rose and text covered paper onto pink card. I then made a doily using a Spellbinder's die and covering it with Frantage. I wrapped a length of wide satin cream ribbon around the layers before securing them to the card base.

The centre panel was made using the elements from one of the 6"x 6" Card Making Sets on the CD. I added a doily, some little flowers, pink half pearls and a stand of pearls.

I finished the card with a big satin bow and a few frantaged butterflies.
