Crafts Galore Encore February 2017

Welcome everyone. I hope you are all well. I apologise for my lack of presence over the past month but, as well as lots of travelling for demonstrations, I've been plagued by one nasty virus after another. Hopefully, normal service will be resumed shortly.
January seemed like such a long month but, finally, February is here. And that means there is a new challenge on the
Thank you to everyone who joined in with January's challenge. The winners are on the challenge blog's 'winner's page'. This is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. A full list of rules are on the challenge blog.

Our theme this month is the popular
"Anything Goes"
and our sponsor is

KennyK Stamps

I was lucky enough to be able to choose this fabulous image from our sponsor.

I started with an 8"x 8" (20 x 20 cm) card base and matted some Kraft card and a paper from Mr Smith's Workshop by Papermania. I distressed the edges of both and rubbed with Distress Ink. I then made a simple dog kennel from another paper and some card.

The image is Col. Macallen. I coloured him with Copics before cutting round him and fixing him on foam pads in front of his kennel.

The idea behind all the X-cut die-cut cogs and the Marianne die-cut clock is that I thought Col. Macallen would make a good watch dog. So, a little play on words there. I rubbed gold wax on the die-cuts before arranging on the card.

Crafts Galore Encore October 2016

Can you believe it's the first of October already? The nights are starting to draw in and the weather has turned chilly here which makes perfect conditions for crafting.
The first of the month means it's the start of a new challenge on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog
Thank you to everyone who joined in with September's challenge. The winners are on the challenge blog's 'winner's page'. This is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. A full list of rules are on the challenge blog.

Our theme this month is everyone's favourite
"Anything Goes"
and our sponsor is the fabulous KennyK Stamps
who are offering a prize of three digis from their store.

I was lucky enough to receive an image from KennyK Stamps and have made a tent fold card to showcase it.

Seeing as it's Halloween at the end of the month I dug out my precious Graphic 45 Rare Oddities papers. I used both black and purple pearlescent card for my matting layers and die cuts.

My image is called Devilish Donna but I think she looks quite sweet. I used my Copics to colour her and then cut her out. She is mounted onto the card with foam pads.

I used a clock die from Marianne and a birdcage from Spellbinders. The birds were made from a Heartfelt Creations die which I trimmed into a raven-like shape. I hand cut the bats.

I tucked a length of lilac lace beneath the layers and added two gem filled bottles.

The finishing touches are a black lace bow and some large gems.

Crafts Galore Encore June 2016

Summertime at last on this side of the world and we have finally had some lovely weather (mixed in with the rain). I'm sorry if I haven't been visiting your blogs regularly but family health problems and new interests are the reasons. I hope you'll all forgive me.
But, the first of the month means it's time for a new challenge on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog. Thank you to everyone who joined in with the May challenge. The winners are on the challenge blog 'winner's page'. This is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. A full list of rules are on the challenge blog.
Our theme this month is everyone's favourite:
"Anything Goes"
and we are sponsored this month by the fabulous KennyK Stamps
who are offering a prize of three digis of the winner's choice.

I made an 8"x 6" (20 x 15 cm) tent fold card and matted and layered with cream card, brown textured card and a paper from Prima.  I scruffed the edges and coloured the paper with Tea Dye DI then I used stamps from Papermania, Kanban and Clarity to add details for a travel theme. The postcard is a stamp from Papermania and the text is from LaBlanche.

I chose the gorgeous Biker Girl digi image from KennyK Stamps and coloured her with Copics in shades to match the paper. She, and her bike, are mounted on foam pads.

The Eiffel Tower was cut twice with a die from Sizzix, once in brown and again in black. Then I mounted them to create a 3D effect. I added some cross hatching with gold embossing powder.

The tickets were cut out using a Kanban stamp and then stamped with Kaiserkraft text stamps.
Now please visit the  Crafts Galore Encore challenge blog to see the fabulous Anything Goes projects my talented team mates have created for your inspiration. We look forward to seeing your entries for this month's challenge.

Crafts Galore Encore March 2016

It's the first of March, so,
Happy St. David's Day to my Welsh friends.
The first of March also means it's time for a new challenge on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog. Thank you to everyone who joined in with February's challenge. The winners are on the challenge blog 'winner's page'. This is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. A full list of rules are on the challenge blog.
Our theme this month is a nice easy one:
"Make a Card"
We are being sponsored this month by the fabulous KennyK Stamps who are offering a generous three digis of the winner's choice to two winners.

There is also a fun KennyK Stamps contest on the Crafts Galore Encore blog where everyone who joins in can claim 50% off two KennyK Stamps images. The full details are on the blog.

I have made a 6"x 6" card. The base has been coloured with Pan Pastels before I added a paper printed from a CD. I made a panel from another printed paper and fixed a length of wide ric-rak across the front.

I chose the "Mermaid" image from KennyK Stamps and coloured her with my Copics. I then loosely cut round her and mounted her to the card with foam pads. I die-cut the seaweed from Marianne and Spellbinder dies and tucked them behind the mermaid.

The sentiment was printed on the computer and the "bubbles" were made with X-cut flower centre dies. The shells and starfish are from Marianne dies and I finished the card with a seam binding bow,
