Creative Artiste #103 April 2024

....Welcome to a new challenge at

Creative Artiste is a monthly challenge blog for everyone who likes to mix their media. So, as long as you like to use various mediums on your creations, we'd love to see you enter the challenge.
A big Thank You to everyone who entered the challenge last month. Your projects were all wonderful and our winners have been announced on the blog.
Our theme is always
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"
We have opportunities to be a Guest Designer for all our winners.

Instead of making a sympathy card for some dear friends last Christmas I decided to make a small canvas instead.. I have made another, similar one, for my sister in honour of our much missed brother.

The canvas measures 7"x 5" (18 x 13 cm). I started by giving the canvas a coat of white gesso. I then splattered some watered down DecoArt Fluid Acrylics Cobalt Turquoise and Prussian Blue diagonally across the canvas.

I die-cut three feathers and lightly sprinkled them with Stampendous Frantage Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel. I heat embossed them by carefully heating the feathers from underneath until the powder started to melt before moving to heating from above.

I made a small resin heart and heat embossed it with the Shabby Blue enamel too. I then added a sprinkle of Stampendous Frantage Chunky Gold enamel to the heart and feathers and heat embossed them.

I sprinkled the canvas with the mix of Stampendous enamel powders and heat embossed it before tying the feathers together with a thin gold thread and adding them, along with the heart, to the canvas with soft matt gel.

Now it's your turn to have fun and create your mixed media projects. You can enter our challenge as many times as you like. A full list of the rules is on the challenge blog. For more inspiration please visit the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog to see the fabulous mixed media projects created by our multi talented team.
Remember to have fun crafting and enter your "Anything Mixed Media Goes" creations in our
April challenge.

I have entered this project in the following challenges:

Crafts Galore Encore April 2024

Happy Easter to those who celebrate, and Happy Chocolate weekend to those who don't.

We are all geared up for visiting family and some fun outings this week as I try to stop the little princess being bored of not being at school.. Strange child.. Just another week to get through..

Meanwhile .....

.... there is a new challenge starting today at

Thank you to everyone who joined in with last month's challenge. The winners have been announced on the challenge blog. This is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. There is a full list of rules on the challenge blog.

Our theme every month is the popular
"Anything Goes"
and our sponsor this month is:

who are offering two digi images from their shop for our lucky winner.

I made an 8"x 8" (20 x 20 cm) birthday card using one of our sponsor's images.

The pink card base and matting layers is from Papermania and the blue mottled card is from my stash. I dyed some seam binding ribbon with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink and fixed it to the card front before sticking it down on the card base.

I couldn't resist using this cute image from our sponsor. It's called Make a Big Splash. I personalised the image, by colouring it with my Copics, for a young lady who loves pink and lives on a farm.

I created a fun sentiment on the computer.

I finished the card with a dyed pink bow and some gems.

Now please visit the  Crafts Galore Encore challenge blog where you can see the wonderful projects and cards created by our talented team using Hetty Clare images.
