This is a card I've made for a challenge at Merly Impressions, the theme is "Acetate" and there's a fabulous prize of some Kaisercraft goodies. It's time to dig out all the pretty acetate you've been buying and not using. Or, like me, keep that safe and print your own. You have until the 4th of September to enter.
I started by creating a backing card, and an acetate overlay of flying birds, in MCS from the Quintessential Country Garden CD. I stamped the birdbath stamp from Kaisercraft in Memento London Fog and coloured it with Promarkers. I inked the background with Spun Sugar and Antique Linen Distress Inks. The rose paper is from Wild Rose Studio, which I layered onto card I'd edged with a Pastel Green Promarker.
I coloured a piece of Guipure lace and wrapped it around the rose paper before fixing it to the backing card. I then attached the birdbath panel, raising it slightly down the center with foam pads. I cut out a few extra acetate birds I'd printed and stuck them down with Pinflair glue and added some flowers in the corner.
Once everything was dry I attached the acetate to the backing card giving it a dome that stands about 2cm proud, then I mounted it all onto an 8"x8" card blank. Photographing acetate is a bit of a nightmare and it's a shame the effect doesn't show too well, but I'm pleased with the effect of the birds flying past without them obscuring the beautiful stamp.
This is stunning as always Andree, the stamps are fab as is the layout and the papers..Px
