I hope everyone is keeping well. These are certainly difficult times and, hopefully, we will all stay safe and can look forward to brighter times in the not too distant future. I must admit, I'm finding it hard to remember what day of the week it is at the moment as every day seems the same.
But, I know that today is definitely the first Friday of April,

.... A new challenge at
Creative Artiste is a challenge blog for everyone who likes to mix their media. So, as long as you like to use various mediums on your creations, we'd love to see you enter the challenge.
A big Thank You to everyone who entered the challenge in March. Your projects were all fabulous and our winners have been announced on the blog.
Our theme is always
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"
and we have opportunities to be a Guest Designer for our winners.
I have used a 12" (30cm) circular canvas to make a project to share today.
I started by priming the base with a couple of coats of white gesso. I then added colour with Cracked Pistachio and Broken China Distress Oxides and water.
I used Faded Jeans DOX to ink up Aall & Create stencil #45 Digital Bubbles and pressed it down over the base and around the edge.
I used Aall & Create's #30 Bubble Block stamp randomly all over and then knocked everything back by sponging with white gesso.
I mixed soft matt gel with Twisted Citron DOX and passed it through Aall & Create #48 Tribal Lines stencil.
The flowers were created with Aall & Create's #199 Eclectic Stems stamp on card coloured with Scattered Straw and Squeezed Lemonade DOX. I sponged on white gesso to dull the black ink and added dots with a black Posca pen to the centres before cutting them out.
I added splashes of white and black with Posca pens and glued circle die-cuts and some black straws across the canvas before arranging the flowers.
Now it's your turn to have fun and create your mixed media projects. You can enter our challenge up to three times. A full list of the rules is on the challenge blog. For more inspiration please visit the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog to see the wonderful mixed media projects created by our multi talented team.
Remember to have fun crafting and enter your "Anything Mixed Media Goes" creations in our April challenge.
