I hope you all have a lovely crafty weekend planned. I shall be heading to Coventry for the Texture and Color retreat organised by Art Workshops and featuring Kassa Hayselden and Anna Dabrowska (Finnabair). I'm anticipating much fun and messy fingers. Hopefully I'll learn some new tricks too.

We are a challenge blog for everyone who likes to mix their media. So, as long as you like to use various mediums on your creations we'd love to see you enter the challenge.
A big Thank You to everyone who entered Challenge #36 in March. Your projects were all wonderful and our winner has been announced on the blog.
Our theme is always
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"
This month we are being sponsored by:
Mixed Up
who are offering one year's free subscription worth £40 to our winner.
See the Creative Artist blog for a special offer on subscription.
I have upcycled a little box.
I started by eating the delicious cheese that came in the box! Once empty, I gave the box top and base a couple of coats of white gesso. I then used texture paste through a honeycomb stencil on both the top and base of the box.
Next, I added some Artstones, gems and cheesecloth to the box top with a soft gel medium along with some paper roses, moss and metal embellishments.
Once that was all dry I gave everything a thick coat of white gesso.
Then I watered down a pink, an orange and a yellow acrylic paint and kept applying them with brushes. I added more water as necessary and dried in between coats, until I was happy with the blends and coverage.
Finally I dry brushed with white gesso to highlight some areas.
This challenge runs until the 29th of April so you have time to create your mixed media projects and enter up to three times. A full list of the rules is on the challenge blog. For more inspiration please visit the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog to see the wonderful mixed media projects created by our talented team. Remember to have fun crafting and enter your "Anything Mixed Media Goes" creations in the challenge.
I'm now off for my much needed break from reality for a few days and wish you all a happy, crafty weekend.
