Welcome to my March post for
We are a challenge blog for everyone who likes to mix their media. So, as long as you like to use various mediums on your creations we'd love to see you enter the challenge.
A big Thank You to everyone who entered Challenge #35 in February. Your projects were all fabulous and our winner has been announced on the blog.
Our theme is always
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"
This month we are being sponsored by the lovely and talented:
Hannah Oxberry
who is generously offering a fabulous
Mixed Media Bundle
to our lucky winner.
I have done a couple of of Hannah's make and take classes and today I am showing a trio of tags I've made using some of Hannah's techniques and the products she sells.
In a session last November Hannah showed a resist technique using a wax crayon. Here I have used that method on the background before adding a layer of DecoArt Crackle Paste.
The paints I've used are DecoArt's acrylics in Burnt Umber and Light Buttermilk. Also DecoArt's Media Fluid Acrylics in Cobalt Teal Hue and Vermilion. The MDF flourish, bark and flowers are from my stash.
Here I have again used DecoArt's Media Fluid Acrylics. The colours are Cobalt Teal Hue, Vermillion and Quinacridone Gold.
I wrapped some of Hannah's gorgeous Silver Coloured Copper Wire around the tag and fashioned a heart with it too. The stencils and stamps on the background and bark are by AALL & Create. I also sprinkled some Lindy's Magicals for a touch of sparkle.
Using more of Hannah's techniques I used the DecoArt Andy Skinner Industrial Elements stencil with DecoArt Modeling Paste on the background before painting washes of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics in Cobalt Teal Hue, Payne's Grey, Quinacridone Gold, Transparent Yellow Iron Oxide and Vermilion. I finished by dry brushing with Titan Buff.
The butterflies are from Tando Creative's Butterfly Grab Bag. I used a book page, Titan Buff, Vermilion and Cadmium Red Hue Fluid Acrylics to decorate them.
All items in bold are available from Hannah's store. Please click the link to visit the store and Hannah's fabulous blog.
This challenge runs until the last Sunday of the month so you have time to create your mixed media projects and enter up to three times. A full list of the rules is on the challenge blog. For more inspiration please visit the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog to see the wonderful mixed media projects created by our talented team. Remember to have fun crafting and enter your "Anything Mixed Media Goes" creations in the challenge.
