Scribble & Scrap Challenge #41

Welcome to Challenge #41 at Scribble & Scrap. Thank you to all those who entered Challenge #40, the winners have been announced. Please see the blog for the details and the prize that's up for grabs for this challenge.
Our theme is always "Anything Goes"

I made this Spring themed 6"x 6" card by using Distress Inks Salty Ocean and Squeezed Lemonade to create the background on watercolour paper. I then created the layers with blue pearlescent card.
The stamps were a magazine freebie and I used them to stamp a scene.

I added the stalks to the flowers with a black pen.

The sentiment stamp is from my stash.

Now head on over to the Scribble & Scrap blog to enter your crafty makes, we'd love to see them.

Swap Card March 2015

I belong to a little swap group on Facebook and we exchange cards once a month. This month the theme was "Fashion". This is the card I made and sent to my swap partner.

I used an 8"x 8" scalloped card blank and edged it with ink. The papers are from Graphic 45's Couture Collection, the mats are black card and the black lace is from Docrafts.

I used an X-cut die set to cut the mannequin and dress. I cut the dress twice so I could decoupage the folds of the skirt for dimension.

I finished the card with half pearls, Crealies flourishes and a tiny feather.
If you're in the UK and like to swap cards ask me to add you to our group. You'd be more than welcome.

Butterfly Packaging

I received some lovely presents last week for Mothering Sunday. There was a thick acetate band around one of them that I thought would be perfect for a make over.

I used an X-cut die to cut some grass strips and stood them up inside the base. Then I fixed one to the front and added some punched butterflies.. The background card was  from my stash and I added a Memory Box leafy die-cut.

The butterflies are created from a mixture of X-cut, Memory Box and Cheery Lynn dies, plus an X-cut punch. One butterfly is fixed to the front and another two are dangling on a strip of acetate inside.

The side view shows the depth and the rows of grasses.
I don't think I'm unique as a crafter for keeping hold of empty boxes, tins and packaging for a possible crafty purpose. It's nice to actually get around to transforming something though.

I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:

Mummy's Birthday Card

I was lucky enough to be one of the winners of the lovely Holley's blog candy event last month to celebrate her five years of being seizure free. I won some Sherri Baldy digis and one of the images I chose was perfect for a card for my young granddaughter, Harlow, to give to her Mummy on her birthday.
This is card I made.

I started by matting and layering card in black, red and finally white. I then chose a polka dot paper from Papermania's Capsule collection Spots and Stripes. I wrapped black lace around all the layers and fixed them to an 8"x 8" scalloped card blank.

I coloured the image with a mix of Copics and Promarkers and matted and layered it onto red and then black card. I created the sentiment on the computer and hand cut the heart layers. I finished the card with a polka dot bow and some punched hearts.

For a little insight into my daughter's birthday celebrations, this is the delightful Harlow showing Mummy her 'handwritten' birthday message,

and enjoying a birthday cupcake as her reward.

Scribble & Scrap Challenge #40

Happy Mothering  Sunday ladies and
welcome to Challenge #40 at Scribble & Scrap. There is a fabulous new prize for this challenge, please see the blog for the details.
There is a change to the DT projects for the Scribble & Scrap challenges now that the shop has closed due to owner Lexie having a new and time-consuming job. That means that, just like the entrants to the challenge, we can use whatever we want to make our "Anything Goes" projects.
Today I have a card using a digi stamp that I won in another challenge.

I matted a Prima paper onto card I coloured with Pan Pastels. I die cut a scalloped circle and embossed it with the Docrafts Lace Circle embossing folder to create a doily. I cut this in half and placed it behind the image. I added some large Ric-Rac and velvet ribbon, also from Docrafts.

The image is Lazy Louise and Bathtime Bubble Friends from Oddball Art. I coloured it with Copics and Promarkers and added some pearls to her hair. I think Lizzy looks frazzled and fully deserving of her bubble bath.

I finished the card with a triple bow, a large button and some Frantage.
Now head on over to the Scribble & Scrap blog where you will notice that we have some very talented new DT members joining us this week. It's exciting to be working alongside such fabulous crafters and I'm delighted to welcome them all.
