Swap Card February 2015

I belong to a little swap group on Facebook and we exchange cards once a month. This month the theme was "Music/Musical". This is the card I made and sent to my swap partner.

I started by matting and layering a paper I printed from MCS 'Quintessential Country Garden' CD and blue card. The musical paper is from Free Vintage Digital Stamps which I cropped and matted onto blue card. I added a couple of doilies and distressed everything with scissors and ink.

I found the music quote online and printed it onto a postcard. The bird is made with a Marianne die.

I added a ribbon tab and large rick-rack. The small die-cuts are from a Crealies die and the musical stave is a Memory Box die cut twice.

Valentine 2015

I know that St.Valentine's Day was last weekend but I have the two grandchildren staying this week so I'm a bit behind with things. This is the card I made for my husband for Valentine's Day.

I layered silver and red card on a white base. I used a Spellbinder's triangle die to create the cut out layer from black card.

The image is Sweet Pea Stamp's Norma J Burnell's Dragon Keeper which I coloured with Copics for the skin and Polychromos for everything else. I only used three reds, the black and the silver. I matted the image onto silver card.

I finished the card with letters cut from an X-cut die and some red gems.
I'm pleased to say that my husband loved the card.
If you have any Sweet Pea Stamps you can share those projects on Facebook in the dedicated Sweet Pea Friends and Fans group.
I've entered this card in the following challenges:

Scribble & Scrap Challenge #38

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend and that those of you who work with or have children in the UK have a wonderful half-term break.
Welcome to Challenge #38 at Scribble & Scrap. Thank you to all who joined in with challenge #37, the winners have been announced on the blog. There is a fabulous new prize for this challenge including the stamp I've used.
The theme for Scribble & Scrap is always "Anything Goes" and there is a full list of all the rules on the blog.
My DT card features one of the fabulous stamp sets currently in the sale in the Scribble & Scrap shop.

I matted a Graphic 45 paper onto black card, wrapped a length of wide lace around it and added a paper lace trim before fixing to a card blank.

The image is the Santoro Mirabelle "Butterfly" stamp. I stamped her twice, once onto another Graphic 45 paper to paper piece the dress. She had been coloured with Promarkers.

I finished the card with a silk ribbon bow, some die-cuts and three black gems.
There is currently a sale on in the Scribble & Scrap shop so make sure you head over there for some fabulous bargains and visit the Scribble & Scrap blog to enter your crafty creations.

Kraftyhands February 2015 Challenge

Today is the start of the February challenge at Kraftyhands. Thank you to all of you who joined in with the January challenge, the winners have been announced on the blog. This challenge is just for fun.
The theme this month is
"Hearts and Flowers"

I've made an A5 landscape card. I layered up the card blank with Kraft card and two gorgeous different papers from the Fleur Francais CD. The whole disc is packed with the prettiest flower images and papers.

I then cut two hearts from Kraft card and added another lovely paper. The image is from one of the pyramage pages. I've given it a die-cut mat and inked the edges before layering it up with foam pads.
I finished the card with some paper flowers, a metal corner and a satin bow from my stash.
Please visit the  Kraftyhands Challenge Blog for a full set of the challenge rules and to view the inspirational DT creations. Remember to be a follower of the challenge blog to qualify for entry in the challenge. Don't forget you can watch Kraftyhands shows regularly on The British Craft Network.
