Gorjuss Nightlight

Time has been rushing by again and I've been kept very busy behind the scenes but the main reason for my lack of blogging lately is that I've been having an absolute nightmare with Blogger. I have to switch browsers from Chrome to upload photos and no one's Followers show - including my own. If anyone has any suggestions please don't hesitate to share them.
Today I've braved my frustrations to show you a little project I made for my recent Docrafts demonstration.

I have made a nightlight. It started off as an empty cardboard tub. I glued one of the lovely papers from the new Santoro Gorjuss range all round the tub and painted the lid with Artiste black acrylic paint. I then made a circle template and drew round it on opposite sides of the tub and used a craft knife to cut the circles out.

I used a wonderful Gorjuss Deco Sheet - it's tissue paper - to line the inside of the tub and die cut two scalloped circle frames from green Papermania textured card to fit around the cut out circles.

The image is the new Gorjuss Nightlight stamp. I stamped her twice, coloured both with Copics and loosely cut them out. I added lace around the tub before I fixed the girls to the tub on foam pads.

I finished the nightlight with buttons, bows and bits from the A4 Ultimate pack. I placed the lid on the bottom of the tub and turned it upside down. The actual light is a battery operated LED light that fits perfectly underneath.
I hope I've inspired you to have a go at creating your own nightlight. All my other Docrafts demo samples can be seen in my gallery by clicking on the Docrafts tab on my sidebar.

I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:

More September 2015 Docrafts Collections

I hope you all have something nice planned for your weekend. I shall be demonstrating the new Docrafts collections at The Range in Carmarthen from 10 till 4 today if any of you are in the area.
Before I go I want to show you some more samples. These ones feature the cutest characters.
Staying with the Christmas theme from my post the other day is the Christmas with Wellington range. This is a fabulously nostalgic collection featuring the cuddly old bear in different scenes.
The fabulous paper packs feature rich colours and prints that are so easy to use with the coordinating packs of sentiments, toppers and postage stamps.
The A4 Ultimate Die-cut and Paper pack has everything you need to create the most wonderful Christmas cards.
There is another all-time favourite making a return.
The ever popular Santoro Gorjuss is back with a new collection of girls in their winter finery. Traditional tweeds and tartans give a warm, comforting palette.
The images and papers are complimented by stamps, buttons, frames and fabric trims.
There are various sizes of packs containing a variety of papers, decoupage and sentiments featuring these delightful little girls.
I hope you will look out for these fabulous new collections at your local Docrafts stockist and treat yourself to some new seasonal goodies. I shall be uploading all my new samples to my Docrafts Gallery in the next few days. Just click on the link on the right to see all my previous samples.
Enjoy the weekend and if you're in the Carmarthen area on Saturday please pop in to The Range to say "Hello".

Docrafts Demonstration September 2015

Things have been very busy on the home front in the past few weeks but I have a couple of, hopefully, quiet weeks now and I've been playing with the new releases from Docrafts. I will be demonstrating with these fabulous new goodies at The Range in Carmarthen this Saturday from 10am until 4pm. Please pop in if you are in the area.
Today I want to show you some of the samples I've made using a couple of the new collections.

For those who like typical Christmas images with a contemporary twist there is the Folk Christmas collection.

There are fabulous double sided papers with a linen texture. Also ribbons and charms.

There is plenty of variety with packs of decoupage topper sets, stamps and patterned card blanks with envelopes.

For those who prefer more traditional Christmas artwork there is the Pocket Full of Posies Collection.
With rich colours, beautiful flowers and handwritten verses this range captures the charm of Christmas.

The pretty artwork is complimented by delicate doilies and lace.

There are coordinating card kits, paper packs, stamps and pretty embellishments.
I hope I've inspired you to check out your local Docrafts stockist so you can grab these fabulous new collections for yourself.  I'll be back soon with more samples. There are a couple of old favourites who have been given new collections that I want to show you.
If you're in the Carmarthen area on Saturday please pop in to The Range to say "Hello".

Kraftyhands September 2015 Challenge

Today is the start of the September challenge at Kraftyhands. We had a break with the challenge for August while things were shuffled round but we've stuck to the previously announced theme of
"Quilts & Patchwork"
This challenge is just for fun. A full set of the rules are on the blog.
I made a patchwork card for August but I thought I'd make a new one for September.

I printed one of the woodgrain papers from the Seeds of Love CD and fixed it to an 8"x 8" card blank. I inked around the edges with Brushed Corduroy DI.

All the papers and images are from the Butterfly Botanicals CD. I created a patchwork of mats for the various images and inked all the edges. I printed the butterflies twice so I could give them some dimension. I punched the words out and mounted them on buttons as a frame.

I used maps and some of the smaller elements on the CD to decorate the other panels and finished the card with metal butterflies and a cabochon rose.
Please visit the  Kraftyhands Challenge Blog for a full set of the challenge rules and to view the inspirational creations from my talented team mates. Remember to be a follower of the challenge blog to qualify for entry and don't forget to watch the Kraftyhands shows on The British Craft Network.
I'm now going to be busy making some samples from a gorgeous new CD. It is called Totally Tiffany Craft and is the first CD in our fabulous new format. It's already available for pre-order in the Kraftyhands shop.

Creative Artiste Challenge 6

Yay, it's Friday. I hope you all have something nice planned for the weekend. I shall be travelling again but hope to get back home in time to catch up on some crafting.
As it's the first Friday of September it's the start of a new challenge at Creative Artiste We are a challenge blog for everyone who likes to mix their media. As long as you use more than one media on your project we'd love to see you enter the challenge. This is a month long challenge so you have time to create cards or projects and enter up to three times. A full list of the rules is on the challenge blog.
Our theme this month is the popular
"Anything Goes"

We are being sponsored by the fabulous Sherri Baldy who is offering a generous choice of three digis for the winner. Sherri's images can be purchased from Sherri's Etsy Store  My Besties Shop or The Scrapbook Stamp Society.

This time I've made a clock. I wanted it to look like a cog to go with a Steampunk theme. It measures 10.5" (27 cm) in diameter.

I hand drew a template for the clock and traced around it onto a sheet of  grey board before cutting it out. I then repeated the process and glued the two pieces together so I had a sturdy base. After gluing them together I painted them first with white gesso and then roughly with a brown acrylic paint to give a slight texture. Once dried, I dry brushed them with gold acrylic paint.
I used a dinner plate to cut a circle of paper from First Edition Rose Garden and used Modge Podge to stick it down, then punched a hole in the centre for the clock mechanism.

The image I've used is IMG602 by Sherri Baldy. I coloured her with Copics and loosely cut her out. I created the postcard with a Docrafts stamp and Distress Inks.

The cogs and sprockets have been die-cut with Spellbinders dies. I printed the Roman numerals on the computer, punched them out with an X-cut punch and distressed them with ink. I actually stuck two of them on upside down and had to redo them - silly me!
I finished the clock by fixing the hands in place and setting the time.
Now please visit the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog to see the wonderful projects created by my talented team mates for more inspiration.  Remember to have fun.

Crafts Galore Encore September 2015 Challenge

Well Summer is over before it even began and it's now the first of September. It's time for a new challenge on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog. Thank you to everyone who joined in last month's challenge. The winners are on the challenge blog 'winner's page'. This is a month long challenge and you can enter up to three times. A full list of rules are on the challenge blog.
Our theme this month is everyone's favourite
"Anything Goes"
We are sponsored this month by Di's Digis who are offering $12 of digis for the lucky winner.

This is the card I made for your inspiration.

I used X-cut scalloped circles to cut the card base and layers from white pearlescent card and green card. I then trimmed the smaller circles into quarters and layered them up. The sentiment is computer generated.

The flowers were made with a Marianne poinsettia die set and cut from pearlescent card. The leaves are from (I think) a Spellbinders die. I finished the card with some half pearls.
Please now visit the Crafts Galore Encore challenge blog to see the fabulous creations from my wonderfully talented team mates. We look forward to seeing your Anything Goes projects.
I've entered this card into the following challenges:
