Whoopsi Daisy Two or More Dies Challenge

I'd like to thank everyone for the kind wishes and comments for my daughter's wedding. I've passed the messages on to the happy newlyweds and they are very grateful.

Today I have a card made for this week's Whoopsi Daisy challenge. The theme is 'Two or More Dies' and seeing as I have just received some fabulous new dies from Card-Craft UK that I've wanted for a while I thought it was a good excuse to have a play.

I wouldn't normally put red and pink together. My daughters would call it a fashion faux-pas but, in this instance, I think the colours go well together. The papers and image are from the Daisy and Friends CD. The red card is from my stash and the self-adhesive lace is from Docrafts. I created the sentiment on the computer, punched it out and layered it on a scalloped circle die-cut.

I printed this sweet image onto Super Smooth card and coloured it with my Promarkers. I used a Spellbinders scalloped oval die to cut it out and edged with pink and red inks.

The clock die is from Marianne. I mounted it onto red card and then onto a doily edged with red ink. I set the hands to 3 o'clock and fixed with a small brad. The teacup is a Heartfelt Creations stamp and matching die. I embossed the teacup with Docrafts pink embossing powder, inked with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and then cut it out with the die.

I finished the card with a heart button and an organza bow.

Elisha and Tim's Wedding Card

Thank you for all the wonderful wishes for my daughter's wedding. Elisha was married to Tim on Friday and I'm pleased to say that everything went very well. The only mishap on the day was the Best Man splitting his trousers whilst playing with my baby granddaughter. Oops! The weather was glorious but just a bit too hot at times. We all had a wonderful, if emotional, time though.

Here are the newlyweds looking deservedly happy.

This is the card I made for the happy couple to celebrate their day. It's an 8"x 8" card and the front crosses over, giving me five panels to decorate. 

The scalloped ovals are Spellbinder dies. I printed the sentiment on the computer and the image is an LOTV stamp. The bling on the bow is from a bracelet.

These two images are digi stamps from Aurora Wings which I coloured using my Promarkers. On the left is "Lady of the Forest" and on the right is "Bride and Groom".

The papers are a mix of Bearly Mine and MCS. It doesn't show too well but I die cut the centre of each paper out and inserted the die cut image into place. This image is also from Aurora Wings. It's called "Bridal Veil".

The flowers are a Heartfelt Creations die set and I finished the card with pearls on the flowers and in some corners.

All the Bridesmaids looked beautiful and although everyone enjoyed the big day we look forward to not having to do all that preparation again anytime soon.

My card today is a quick and easy one that's suitable for lots of occasions.

I used four papers from the Fabulously Feminine Set 2, all in shades green. I matted and layered two papers onto white card and printed a photo from Vintage photo # 12. I cut the photo out leaving a white border.

I used X-cut dies to create the flowers from two other papers and green textured card for the flourishes. I finished with pearls in the centre of the flowers.

Mr & Mrs

The wedding of my middle daughter, Elisha, is tomorrow, Friday. It seems to have come around so quickly and the past few weeks have just vanished in a blur. Apart from a wedding card, which I shall show you next week, I decided to try my hand at a 3D project for the happy couple.

I bought the letters and then had to think on how to display them. I decided to decorate them and mount them on a board to make a wall hanging.

The board has been painted with gold acrylic paint. I then used a sheet of textured white card and a white velum embossed with silver leaves. I trimmed it with a scallop punch and brushed the edges with gold paint. I finished with four metal corners.

I started by painting the letters with acrylics in various pastel shades. I then covered the fronts with papers from Graphic 45. To finish the letters I messily painted gold around the edges.

Each letter has a metal charm attached to a gold painted flower.

All the images are fussy cut from Graphic 45 papers and strengthened with Modge Podge. The tiny ring is from an earring.

It's long been a tradition to give the bride a wooden spoon to help with her culinary skills but Elisha is a good cook so this is just a token spoon. On the S is a mini book which contains the date of the wedding.

I presented the board to the happy couple last weekend and they will display it at the wedding to go with their vintage décor.

Now I'm off to get my nails and hair done ready for the big day tomorrow. Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Elisha's G45 Birthday Card

Yesterday was my middle daughter's birthday. She is 215 miles away so I didn't get to see her but I will be travelling up to her this weekend for her hen party.

I recently treated myself to some Graphic 45 papers, and, as Elisha is a big fan of fashion, I thought the Couture papers would be perfect for her birthday card.

I started with an 8"x 8" card blank and covered it with black card. I matted a striped paper and attempted some faux stitching round the edges.

I cut round one of the larger elements on a page and removed certain sections of the image with a craft knife. I then matted it onto red card. I doubled over some velvet ribbon and added a large gem to create a bow effect.

I tucked feathers and pearl sprays behind a metal corner and added a ribbon off-cut and a resin rose. I looped a string of pearls across the bottom section of the card.

I tied a triple bow from seam binding and distressed it before adding some twine and a resin rose. I finished the card with another metal corner and some pearls on the images.

I'm pleased to say that Elisha loved her card and enjoyed her birthday.

I have been having a lot of fun with my new papers and hope to show you more over the coming weeks.

Kraftyhands July 2014 Challenge

I did say I'd been busy. This is my third post in three days. Just like buses, nothing for ages then three in a row.
Today sees the start of the July challenge at Kraftyhands. Thank you to all of you who joined in with the June challenge, the entries were gorgeous and the winners have been posted on the blog. This challenge is just for fun and the theme this month is:

"Summer Holidays"

We would love it if you used a Kraftyhands product somewhere on your project, but it's not necessary. We do ask though that you follow the challenge blog.

I have used The Potting Shed mini CD for my DT card. Not everyone is lucky enough to go away on a summer holiday so, for those who enjoy a 'staycation', what better pastime than pottering in the garden? 

This is a brilliant CD to use for anyone who is a keen gardener. There are fabulous images for both male and female gardeners either as plain toppers or decoupage plus a whole host of gorgeous papers and even matching inserts. And all for the bargain of £8.50.

I have used two papers and a mixture of different elements from the Card Making Sets on this card. I matted the papers and the beautiful arch image onto green card and loosely cut round the other elements.

I decoupaged the lady and mounted the other pieces onto the card with foam pads for dimension.

To finish the card I added some red flowers from my stash and a few die-cut leaf flourishes by Cheery Lynn.

My DT card this time is a wedding card. I will add the personalised sentiment to the top corner.

I have used three papers from the In the Pink set 1. I matted all three onto white linen card. I fixed lace to the heart paper before attaching to the card and added an X-cut flourish.

The image is an LOTV stamp which I have coloured with Promarkers. I then die-cut the image and mounted on foam pads.

I finished the card with some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and a big bow. The silver button is from Docrafts.

Docrafts Demonstration July 2014

Good morning everyone. I have been very busy lately. It is now less than two weeks until my daughter's wedding and there just doesn't seem to be enough time to fit everything in. The wedding plans are fine, it's the crafty stuff I'm worried about.
Anyway, I'm off for my Docrafts demonstration at The Range in Carmarthen today. I have spent the past week playing with the new collections. Here are some of my samples.

These first two cards are from the pretty Botanicals range. 

There are wonderful images and papers as well as matching card blanks and embellishments. 

It seems to be too early to me to be thinking about Christmas but these gorgeous images and papers from the wonderfully named "Letter to Santa" range are too nice to resist. 

I love the traditional artwork and colours but there are images and papers with a more modern twist as well.

Here I've used some of the lovely tissue paper with one of the new wooden shapes. I've painted the star with silver acrylic paint from the Artiste range,

There is another fabulous Capsule Collection. This one is called "Wild Rose" and has all the usual complimentary elements, this time in beautiful soft pinks.

This collection is perfect for mixing with the Botanicals range.

Lastly, I'd like to show you a fantastic new A4 die. It cuts the perfect cracker for you decorate as you wish. 

I don't believe in using crackers just for Christmas. It's a fabulous way to wrap small gifts all year round.
