Today I am showing a monochrome card made with papers and a photograph from the Scribble & Scrap shop.

I started by matting two papers from the Monochrome Set 1 onto black card. I placed them on an 8"x 8" card blank leaving a white border and added a square doily.

The photograph is from Vintage Photo Sheet #14 which has six gorgeous images to choose from. I just love the chubby cheeks on this darling girl. I cropped the photo and matted it onto black card.

I die-cut the leaf flourishes from the black card using Cheery Lynn dies and the butterfly is a Memory Box die. To finish the card I added some roses and pearl flowers from my stash.

Docrafts Demo May 2014 Card Samples

Today I will be at The Range in Carmarthen for my Docrafts demonstration. If you are able to, please stop by between 10am and 4pm to say 'Hello'.
Thank you for all the lovely comments on my samples yesterday. I'm so pleased you liked them. As promised, I'm back to show you some of the card samples I have made for my demo today.

This first one uses elements from the beautiful Eau de Nil Capsule Collection. I started with a pink pearlescent paper new to the Papermania range. Then I layered a paper, one of the lace paper doilies and a notelet. I wrapped ribbon around the notelet and added a matching bow. I finished with buttons in the corners.

This card is made using the elegant Midnight Blush Capsule Collection. I layered one of the papers followed by half of a Lace Paper doily, a strip of Jumbo Crochet Trim and a couple of Big Bloomers. I added a couple of punched flowers and a button to the centre. The card was finished with a couple of buttons and a small bow.

I used an X-cut Scalloped Circle die to make this card shape and inked the edges. I then added a circle notelet and topped it with a pinwheel. I tucked in a couple of folds of ribbon and finished with a bow.

The Heritage Press collection is perfect for making elegant male cards and has papers, decoupage and embellishments as well as embossing folders and dies. On this card I've used decoupage, a paper, a sentiment, buttons and dies. Don't you just love the spectacles?

This card is so simple to make. I have used the Tartan embossing folder, a paper, some buttons and a decoupaged sentiment.

There is no main image on this card. I have used a variety of sentiments by pegging them to a thread and a larger sentiment that I've matted onto Papermania card. The background is a double layer of a Heritage Press paper matted onto card. I finished off with more mini pegs to which I added some buttons.

I hope I've inspired you to try out some of the fabulous new collections. You should be able to find them at your local Docrafts stockist. Remember, if you are in the Carmarthen area today please stop by The Range for my demo. I'd love to see you there.

Docrafts Demo May 2014

I have been having so much fun playing with the new collections from Docrafts. Have you seen the pretty papers, fabulous decoupage, wonderful dies and wooden shapes? There are so many lovely new elements and it's been great fun making my samples for Saturday. Please come along and say 'Hello' if you are anywhere near The Range in Carmarthen. I will be there from 10am until 4pm.
I have chosen the projects I've made with the Bare Basics wooden shapes and the Giant Peg to show you today. All the elements I've used are from Docrafts, which covers the Papermania, X-cut, and Artiste paint ranges, amongst others.

The first is a little house frame. There are apertures you could put mini photos in but I used mirri card to look like windows. I painted it, decorated it with punched flowers and added hooks to hang keys from.

The Giant Peg is brilliant as there are many things that can be done with it. I chose to turn it into a photo holder as it stands up perfectly. I painted the peg in white and gold and decorated it with elements from the beautiful Eau de Nil Capsule Collection.

I die-cut flowers from the papers and used Artiste gold acrylic paint round the edges. I finished them with sparkly Dome Stickers.

I used notelets, crochet trim, ribbon, fabric trim and punched butterflies to decorate.

The Bare Basics wooden shapes are light enough to use on cards. I painted this heart and swiped it with Artiste Spritzing Ink in Gold Stone. The other elements, apart from the Papermania Kraft Card, punched flowers and thread, are from the Eau de Nil Capsule Collection.

I painted the owl in a mix of Artiste Acrylics and tied it to one of the Chalkboard Pegs. I made the flowers from a mix of X-cut dies and punches using the new Coloured Paper Pack. The background is made from one of the fantastic new Shadow Box Dies - Forest. I have used the layers flat on this card.

As you can probably tell my favourite colour is turquoise and I'm in love with the Eau de Nil Collection but I have used the Midnight Blush Capsule Collection and the masculine Heritage Press range for my samples as well. Tomorrow I'll show you some card samples made from these wonderful new collections.
Check out your local Docrafts stockist for the fabulous new products and if any of you are in the Carmarthen area this Saturday please pop in to The Range. I'd love to see you.

Happy Birthday Cathy and Holly

Today is the birthday of two special girls in our family. One is Cathy, our youngest daughter and the other is her horse Holly. Both have had a rough time time lately so we are hoping that today marks the start of  happier times. I have made them both cards.

For Cathy's card I used one of my favourite stamps. It's from Whimsy Stamps and I coloured it using Promarkers. The papers are from Fabulously Feminine Mini available from Scribble & Scrap and I created the sentiment on the computer. The dies are Cheery Lynn Leaf Flourish. The purple pearlescent card, lace, pearls and flowers are from my stash.

It's Holly's 18th but she won't be celebrating with champagne. She has been on "box rest" for a couple of months after being injured in transit so maybe she'll be allowed just a few apples and carrots.

The stamped image is from Clarity and I layered it up using X-cut Scalloped Circle dies. The apple background is self-adhesive fabric from Docrafts. I finished the card with a computer generated sentiment, punched horseshoes and a raffia bow.

Here are both beautiful girls.

Happy Birthday Cathy!

Happy Birthday Holly!

Now I must get back to my preparations for my Docrafts demonstration on Saturday. I'll show you some samples in a few days.

Kraftyhands May 2014 Challenge

Today sees the start of the May challenge at Kraftyhands. Thank you to all of you who joined in with the April challenge, the entries were fabulous and the winners have been posted on the blog. This challenge is just for fun and the theme this month is
"Anything Goes"
We would love it if you used a Kraftyhands product somewhere on your project, but it's not necessary. We do ask though that you follow the challenge blog.

The latest CD release in the Kraftyhands shop is the fabulous What a Hoot! It's packed full of gorgeously colourful and cute owls and all the papers, sentiments and inserts you need to make the most adorable cards for males and females.

I have made a card in a box. I made the box 8" square and an inch thick. I decorated it with one of the fabulous Foliage Papers. The card is removable from the frame. This is a good way to display cards with a lot of dimension.

The actual card is 6" and sits nicely inside the box. I've used new Build a Scene dies from Docrafts to create the dimensional setting and taken one of the adorable little owls from a decoupage Card Making Set and tucked him in the forest.

The sentiment pennant is from the CD.  I finished off with a Docrafts die cut owl, a piece of ribbon and some buttons.

Please visit the  Kraftyhands Challenge Blog for a full set of the challenge rules and to view the fabulous creations from the talented DT. Remember to be a follower to qualify for entry. You can also keep up to date with all the latest Kraftyhands news and see sneak peeks on the Kraftyhands Blog.

Pearl Anniversary

My husband and I are celebrating our Pearl Wedding Anniversary today. It doesn't feel like thirty years since we tied the knot but I suppose that's because family life has kept us so busy all these years. And it's true what they say about how time flies when you're having fun.
This is the card I made for my husband. Most of the products I used are from recent Docrafts Capsule Collections.

The black card is a Papermania textured card and I've used a paper from the Oyster Blush Capsule collection. The large pearls in the corners and the small ones on the hearts are from my stash. I created the sentiment on the computer.

I have used a Lace Paper from the Oyster Blush Collection and one of the Die Cut Notelets from the Midnight Blush Capsule Collection. I die cut a black circle and two hearts for the centrepiece.

The Pleated Fabric Trim and the Large Ribbon Bows are from the Midnight Blush collection and the Adhesive Crochet Border is from the Oyster Blush collection.
We are off out for lunch with friends and family to celebrate as it's a Bank Holiday in the UK. I hope you all have a lovely day planned too.

Today I have a shaped card to show you that I made with Scalloped Oval dies from Spellbinders. I used three different sizes and cut the layers from white linen card. I inked the edges with Distress Ink Spun Sugar and mounted them up on foam pads. I created the sentiment on the computer.

I used Heartfelt Creations dies to cut the Delicate Asters from three different coloured card and large pearls from my stash for the centres.

I printed the butterflies onto acetate in three different sizes. The image is from an old Jem's Designs CD Whispering Wings.
