An Exciting New Venture

I have two lots of super exciting news to share with you all.......

Firstly;

The fantastic Jem's Designs are about to release their own range of digital images!!! There will soon be the most fantastic digi versions of the sort of images you have come to associate with Jem's Designs, all for you to colour and play with to heart's content.

And secondly;

I am one of the very lucky crafters on the newly formed team working on the first images to bring to you!!! The digis are all wonderful and I just know you'll love them. I'm so excited about this new venture.

The Digis by Jems team is headed by the lovely Janet Babar and Kay Dalton, and my fellow team mates are Pamela Smith, Crafty Craft, Anjie McChesney, Cheremane Smith, Tracey Singleton-Wilton and Lynn Whitehouse. All very talented ladies.

The all new Digital Jems images will be available from the website soon, so don't forget to keep popping in and checking.

Starting School

I'd like to remind everyone about the "Back to School" challenge over at Emma's Cards. It finishes at the end of the month and has a fabulous prize of two stamps from IndigoBlu. As I'm on the DT I'm not eligible to enter, but, I have made a card for my young Grandson, who started school last week, that I would like to show you.

I started with an 8"x8" blank and matted and layered grey and red Papermania textured card. I then wrote in white pen over the red layer to decorate it. I used an image from the Paintbox Poppets CD from Crafter's Companion and matted and layered that with red and pale blue card.

 The other panel is from a Papermania capsule collection, also matted and layered. I created the row of books in MCS with an image from Polkadoodles Pretty Tuff CD. The blackboard is from The Wine Buffs CD with the text added in MCS. I finished off with some coloured Candi and tabs made from leftover card.

Don't forget to come and join in the fun, it doesn't have to be a card, just something crafty that matches the theme.

DCC and Friends Challenge # 3

Are you all ready for another challenge at DCC & Friends? Today kicks off our 3rd challenge and the theme is "Character Crazy". You have until October 15th to enter your crafty creations along this theme and collect your next Treasure Hunt letter.
Our fabulous sponsors are PaperCraftJunkies who are offering six digis of the winner's choice. Please visit their website, there is so much more on offer than the fantastic images, including some freebies. And, if you use an image from PaperCraftJunkies on your entry you will go into a draw for a bonus crafty prize from DCC & Friends.

This is my DT card, made with fabulous images by Tracey Grundy from PaperCraftJunkies.

I made an 8" x8" easel card and covered the front with a green textured card from Papermania, I layered that with a  paper from Kanban's Industriana pad. The chevron card is from Papermania's Happy Days pad.
I die cut the cogs with Donna Salazar's Sprockets set from blue Core'dinations card, then used them to emboss the green Core'dinations card before using as embellishments.

The robots are from the Rustin (get it?) family, the blue one is called Henry and the brown one is Uncle Charlie. I used Promarkers to colour them both then die cut them with Spellbinder's labels eleven. I inked the edges with Distress inks Weathered Wood and Bundled Sage.

The stand was made with off cuts and mounted on foam pads.  I created the sentiment in MCS and I cut some dies from plain card and coloured them with promarkers for the finishing touch.
Thank you to all who entered last month's challenge, the winners will be announced next weekend. We can't wait to see your entries for Challenge #3 at DCC & Friends, and please, do come and join us at Dawn's Card Swap on Facebook.

Enchanted Fairies

Well, I don't know what's up with Blogger, it still won't show my beautiful background or font settings despite everything being properly installed. So, again, I apologise for the look of my blog, it's not at all what I want it to look like but there are more important things in life to worry about.

Today I'd like to remind you about the current challenge at DCC & Friends. There are still a couple of days left to enter - until Friday - and the prizes are fabulous - from Sharon Duncan and PaperCraftJunkies. We also have DT and GDT posts available for those who are interested and don't forget to collect your next letter for the treasure hunt draw.
There is an extra incentive for members of our Facebook group Dawn's Card Swap, Dawn is offering a crafty prize. So, if you're not already a member, please visit us and ask to join.
Seeing as the theme for the challenge is Fairies, Mystic and Magic I thought it would tie in nicely with some cards I've been busy making. I just love the fairies on the Docrafts Enchanted DVD and I printed off the digi images and had a play with my Polychromos.

The backgrounds are from the Enchanted CD and the die cut is from X-Cut. I simply embellished with coloured flowers and some ribbon.

A close-up where you can see that I've added glitter.

I didn't realise how sad this fairy looks until I'd printed her out, but I still think she's lovely.

Don't forget to visit the DCC & Friends Challenge blog for some fabulous inspiration and join in the challenge.

Back to School

Firstly, I'd like to apologise for the look of my blog. Blogger decided to kidnap my beautiful background and won't let me have it back. I have neither the time nor inclination to sort it just now, so it's turned into a waiting game. Anyway, I'm pleased to say that .........

We have a new challenge this month at Emma's Cards UK. The theme for Challenge #8 is very topical  as it's "Back to School". Your entry can be any crafty make on this theme, whether it's a card, scrapbook layout or a 3D creation. For a link to the full set of rules and to enter see our challenge page at Emma's Cards UK.

Our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous IndigoBlu.

And this is the wonderful prize

On to my DT card; I started with an 8"x8" card blank and covered the front with a dark grey pearlescent card and then layered with green card, both from Kanban. I added some writing in white pen to break it up. The blackboards are from the Wine Buffs CD and I added the text in MCS.

The boy is from Polkadoodles Pretty Tuff CD as are the books and the backpack. I tiled and altered the colour of the books in MCS and coloured the boy and the backpack with Promarkers. The clock is from an MCS CD.

This is a great challenge with a fabulous prize, so if you need any more inspiration, pop along to Emma's Cards UK to see all the other wonderful DT cards. We can't wait to see your entries.
