Boofle Birthday

Welcome to the first ever Crafting Cafe blog hop - the Crafting Cafe is a friendly group of crafters  on Facebook who share their crafting journey together. Click on the Crafting Cafe badge on my sidebar and come on over and join us.
If you have started from the beginning of the hop you will have got to me from Lindsay's blog. If you found this hop by accident - Welcome! To go to the beginning of the hop, pop on over to Nikki's blog, it's only a few hops back, and then you will get to see the wonderful creations from everyone! There is some lovely candy on offer along the way for those who participate.
The theme for this blog hop is "Friendship" and I thought this cute Boofle image fitted the bill.

I started by soaking a length of (unused) bandage in tea to stain it. I thought the texture and new colour matched Boofle perfectly.  I wrapped a piece of the bandage around a trimmed sheet of Hunkydory card from an old kit then covered an 8"x8" card blank. The Boofle image was part of a topper sheet which I cut out and layered onto an oval of spotty paper from my stash. I inked a small doily with Antique Linen Distress Ink and tied a bow with the remaining bandage.

The flowers were made by die-cutting more spotty paper and layering. I drew dots on the Candi to make them look like buttons. The "friendship" sentiment was created in MCS and die-cut. I added a bow from wired gold thread to the bigger bandage bow and another to the sentiment. Some Cosmic Shimmer pearls round part of the topper were the finishing touch.

Thank you for hopping over to see me and I hope you've enjoyed your visit. Now it's time to hop on over to the next blog. Your next stop is Lynne's blog. Happy hopping! x

  15. What a lovely card!

I've never been a big fan of Boofle, but I am getting more keen on him now!

I love the colour combo you've used. The duck egg blue and the vintage lace colour looks amazing. The Card Candi you've used to make look like buttons are great! I really thought they were buttons!

    Well done.

    Thank you for sharing!
